STAGE DIRECTOR.
As stage director for festivals, companies and conservatoriums, Matthew has created original productions of Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly, La clemenza di Tito, Die Fledermaus, Gianni Schicchi and multiple new productions of La bohème and Carmen. Over forty directing credits with Opera Australia staging works at the Sydney Opera House and The Arts Centre, Melbourne, as well as interstate and international directing assignments with major opera companies.
MOVEMENT DIRECTOR.
Matthew has collaborated on projects as movement director for opera and theatre schools, young artists festivals and major companies, breaking down the components of physical performance, devising movement language and working with artists from the inside-out, as both movement supervisor and choreographer. Movement direction guides the artist into an imaginary pair of shoes - shaping the physical characteristics of a role.

Uniquely experienced in coaching young and emerging artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and at different stages of their career.
Training provided for Sydney Conservatorium Opera, Victorian College of the Arts Opera, NIDA, Opera Australia, iSING! International Young Artists Festival, Pacific Opera and independent performing arts schools.
